Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro to reportedly feature 66W fast charging; fully charge in 35 minutes

On: December 27, 2019

The Xiaomi Mi series of smartphones are flagship devices from the brand and are always launched with top of the line spec sheet including the newest Snapdragon flagship SoC, powerful cameras and an attractive design. Moreover, Xiaomi launches two variants every year including a standard and Pro model. Last year’s Xiaomi Mi 9 flaunted a Snapdragon 855 processor, 48MP triple camera module and in-display fingerprint scanner as its highlights. Now, as we inch towards 2020, rumours have started pouring in for the upcoming Mi 10 series. According to the latest rumour, the Mi 10 Pro could flaunt the world’s fastest charging technology.

According to a reliable Chinese tipster, the top-end variant of the Mi 10 series will be able to charge fully from 0 to 100 percent in just 35 minutes. Past rumours have suggested that the Mi 10 Pro could come with 66W fast charging tech. Two smartphones with 5G support were spotted on the 3C authority in China recently revealing their chargers. These phones bore model numbers M2001J1E/C and M2001J2E/C and reports have claimed that J1 and J2 are the codenames of Mi 10 series phones. The 3C listing revealed that the M2001J1E/C will come with an MDY-11-EB charger that supports 66W fast charging. The standard variant with model number M2001J2E/C is seen with a 30W MDY-11-EF charger. This is the same charger that’s provided with Mi CC9 Pro and recently launched Mi Note 10.

We already know from the 3C listing that both Mi Note 10 series smartphones will come with the support for 5G networks. Additionally, Xiaomi’s co-founder Lin Bin has confirmed that the next flagship from the brand will be the Mi Note 10 Pro. We can expect the handsets to be powered by the new Snapdragon 865 SoC, which brings support for dual-mode 5G connectivity. There are also reports that the upcoming flagship smartphones might feature the 108MP camera that we have already seen on the Mi Note 10, and also have a display with a high refresh rate.

Unfortunately, other details of these handsets are currently unknown. We will know more details about the Mi Note 10 series closer to the launch next year.
