Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra with Snapdragon 865 and 120W fast charging launched: price, specifications

Earlier this year, Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro flagship phones in China. A few months later, the company brought the Xiaomi Mi 10 to India. Today, the brand unveiled the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra in celebration of its 10th anniversary.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra is a beefed-up version of the Mi 10 Pro and it comes with couple of industry-first features. It is the world’s first smartphone to arrive with support for 120W ultra-fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone sports a 120Hz curved screen and its four rear-facing cameras offer up to 120x zoom.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra comes in premium ceramic and glass build options. It has a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED screen that offers Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, and 10-bit color depth. There is a punch-hole positioned at the upper-left corner. The Mi 10 Ultra 5G comes with a new generation in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Snapdragon 865 mobile platform fuels the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra 5G with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The device lacks a microSD card slot. The latest MIUI 12 based Android 10 OS comes preinstalled on the phone.

The Mi 10 Ultra draws power from a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery. The 120W fast charging technology is capable at charging both cells simultaneously. This makes it possible to fully charge the phone in just 23 minutes. The phone also supports 50W superfast wireless charging which takes only 40 minutes to gain 100 percent battery juice. It also supports 10W reverse wireless charging. The Mi 10 Ultra is equipped with a comprehensive heat dissipation system that includes VC liquid cooling with graphene, multi-layer graphite sheets and 8x thermal sensor array.

The rear-mounted camera system of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra has a 48-megapixel main camera with OIS, EIS, dual native ISO technology, and an 8P lens. It is coupled with a 128-degree 20-megapixel ultrawide lens that can also capture macro shots up to 2cm focal length, 12-megapixel portrait lens with 2x optical lens, and dual pixel autofocus, and a 48-megapixel 120x ultra-zoom periscope camera with 10x equivalent focal length, OIS, EIS, and 5P lens. The quad cameras are assisted by a flicker sensor, a laser autofocus unit, and dual-LED flash. The Mi 10 Ultra 5G is also capable of shooting high-resolution 8K videos.

The Xiaomi MI 10 Ultra has a front-facing camera of 20-megapixels. The other features that are available on the Mi 10 Ultra include 5G, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, USB-C and dual stereo speakers. Lastly, the phone comes with an anti-microbial protective film.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra 5Ghas arrived in China in four variants such as 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 16GB RAM + 256GB storage. The handset comes in three colour choices – Ceramic Black, Bright Silver, and Transparent Edition. The pricing starts at RMB 5,299 (~Rs 56,900).
