Xiaomi has gone ahead and announced the China-specific variant of the Mi 10 Lite 5G that was launched in Europe last month. The new smartphone is called the Mi 10 Youth Edition and comes with a slightly different specifications compared to the global variant launched last month. Notably, this is the fourth addition to the Mi 10 line-up after the, Mi 10 Lite 5G, Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. The latter two were launched by the brand earlier this year. The newest launch in China comes with a periscope camera with 50x zoom and Snapdragon 765G with 5G connectivity as its standout features. Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition specifications and features
The Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition, as we know already, is different from the Mi 10 Lite 5G and comes in as a toned-down variant of the Mi 10. The phone is different in the sense that it comes with a quad-camera setup comprising of a 48MP primary camera, 8MP wide-angle lens, 8MP periscope telephoto lens and a 2MP macro lens. Notably, the 8MP telephoto lens offers up to 50x zoom. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition flaunts a 6.57-inch TrueColor AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch and full HD+ resolution. The display also flaunts 180Hz touch sampling rate and supports HDR10 + technology. For performance, there is the Snapdragon 765G chipset with Adreno 620 graphics chip and integrated 5G Snapdragon X52 modem. The processor is further accompanied by up to 8GB RAM and up to 256 GB storage. Out of the box, the smartphone will boot MIUI 11 based on Android 10 and powered by a 4,160mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging.
Other specifications of the handset include 16MP selfie camera, USB Type-C, in-display fingerprint scanner, and more.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition price and availability
The Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition will go on sale in China starting this month. Xiaomi is offering the handset in Black Skill Storm, Blueberry Mint, Peach Grapefruit, Four Seasons Spring Milk Green and White Peach Oolong colour options. The handset is available in four configurations – 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. These variants will retail for RMB 2,099 (~Rs 22,600), RMB 2,299 (~Rs 24,750), RMB 2,499 (~Rs 26,900) and RMB 2,799 (~Rs 30,100), respectively. A watermark in one of the camera samples during the livestream revealed that the smartphone might launch globally as Mi 10 Lite Zoom.
