Earlier this year, Xiaomi launched the Snapdragon 865-powered Xiaomi Mi 10 flagship in India. Today, the company’s MD Manu Kumar Jain took to Twitter to confirm that it will be launching the Mi 10i in India on January 5th. .

As per Jain, the “i” in the product name stands for India, since the product has been customised for India by Xiaomi’s product team. It will also be a Made in India device.

In September, Xiaomi introduced three phones named the Xiaomi Mi 10T, Mi 10T Pro, and Mi 10T Lite in the global market. Last month, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi launched the Redmi Note 9 series of smartphones in China. A modified version of the Mi 10T Lite featuring a new 108-megapixel camera was launched in the home market as the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. The same device will be heading to India as the Xiaomi Mi 10i..

According to a recent leak, the Xiaomi Mi 10i could be coming to India in options like 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. The handset is expected to arrive in colour editions like blue, black, and gradient orange/blue.
The Xiaomi Mi 10i is expected to feature a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with support for Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 750G chipset could be present under the hood of the device along with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
The handset could be featuring a 4,820mAh battery along with 33W fast charge support. For selfies, it may feature a 16-megapixel front camera. The rear side of the phone could be featuring a quad-camera setup comprising of the all-new 2nd generation 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
At present, there is no word on the pricing of the device. The 5G-ready phone is expected to rival the likes of the OnePlus Nord and Moto G 5G smartphones in India.
