The Mi 10S has been launched in China. It is the fourth device in Mi 10 series that had debuted last year. The lineup consists of Mi 10, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G and the newly launched Mi 10S.

The Mi 10S is positioned between the standard and Ultra variants. Xiaomi says that the latest offering is better than the Mi 10 that was launched in February last year. The smartphone comes with an upgraded processor and it is also 5G compatible. Read on to find out more about the Mi 10S.

The Mi 10S is powered by the recently launched Snapdragon 870 chipset

The Mi 10S sports a 6.67-inch punch-hole AMOLED curved display bearing an FHD+ resolution. It features a 90Hz refresh rate, 1120 nits brightness and HDR10+ support. The device is equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The Mi 10S retains the vertically stacked rear camera module design from the Mi 10 Ultra. In terms of audio, the smartphone is equipped with Harman Kardon symmetrical stereo speakers. 

On the optics front, the Mi 10S comes with a quad-camera system consisting of a 108MP main sensor, 13MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the device features a 20MP selfie snapper. The smartphone packs a host of camera-related features and it is capable of recording up to 8K videos at 30fps. 

Under the hood, the Mi 10S houses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 5G processor that was announced in January this year. It packs up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 native storage. The smartphone draws its power from a 4,780mAh battery unit with support for 33W wired and 30W wireless fast charging. It also supports 10W reverse wireless charging. Software-wise, the Mi 10S runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11 out of the box. 

In terms of connectivity, the Mi 10S comes with a USB-C port, dual-mode 5G, 4G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and dual-frequency GPS. 

Mi 10S pricing and availability

The Mi 10S starts at RMB 3,299 (~Rs 36,958) for the base 8GB + 128GB variant. The 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB configurations are priced at RMB 3,499 (~Rs 39,193) and RMB 3,799 (~Rs 42,554) respectively. The smartphone will go on sale from March 12 in China and will be available in Blue, White and Black colour.
