Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro receiving Android 11 update with MIUI 12 in India

Three months after the launch of Mi 10T series in October, the smartphones have started receiving the latest MIUI 12 based Android 11 update. The Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro (review) shipped with MIUI 12 on the top of Android 10 out of the box. Notably, India is the first country to receive the latest software update for Mi 10T series users.

The Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro are identical to each other in terms of specifications except the camera configuration. Hence, the two phones run the same software build and the Android 11 update version number is also the same.

The MIUI 12 based Android 11 update carries build number RJDINXM and weighs 2.8GB in size. It also includes January 2021 Android security patch. The software update introduces new features and improvements like native smart home control, default screen recorder, more efficient media control tool, and one-time permission to apps and security fixes. 

To download the Android 11 update, users need to go to Settings > Select ‘About Phone’ > Tap on MIUI version > Click ‘Check for Updates’ and hit download if the update is available.

Before installing the update, users should ensure that their smartphone has 3GB of free storage space and enough battery. 

Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro specifications and features

The Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro feature 6.67-inch IPS LCD displays bearing FHD+ resolution and up to a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. The devices come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a rectangular rear-camera module. 

The Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro sport a triple camera setup of 13MP ultra-wide lens and 5MP macro unit. The former comes with a 64MP Sony IMX686 main snapper while the later features a 108MP Samsung HMX primary lens. Both smartphones have a 20MP front-facing selfie snapper. The devices pack a host of camera features and support up to 30fps 8K video recording. 

The Mi 10T series is powered by Snapdragon 865 processor with up to 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 onboard storage. Both devices are backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 33W fast charging. Connectivity options on the smartphones include 5G, 4G, WiFi 6, dual-frequency GPS, IR Blaster, USB-C port and Bluetooth 5.0.
