Xiaomi has finally started rolling out the much-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update for Xiaomi Mi 5. As of now, the update has just been started rolling out in China and hopefully, it will make its way to India soon. The company is planning to bring Android’s latest operating system to Mi 5 devices via its MIUI 8.2 update.

The update is 1.3GB in size and will reach to your phone through OTA. It is recommended to charge your phone at least 50% before proceeding with the update process.
To recall, the Xiaomi Mi 5 was launched in India in May 2016 as the flagship device of the year. Specs wise, it sports a 5.15 Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 428PPI. Inside are a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Furthermore, it gets 32GB of internal storage, a fingerprint scanner, and dual SIM slots.
For photography, it flaunts a 16-megapixel primary camera backed by Sony IMX298 sensor and features autofocus, LED flash and OIS. The camera lens also puts on a sapphire glass on top for protection. Up front, the Xiaomi Mi 5 houses 4-megapixel al camera for capturing selfies. As far as connectivity is concerned, the device gets all the standard features such as WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB Type-C, 4G VoLTE, and 3.5mm audio jack. It measures 144.5 x 69.2 x 7.25mm and weighs 129 grams.
