Xiaomi has officially confirmed their upcoming smartphone, the Mi 5X. After some leaks and rumours about the smartphone, the brand acknowledged the presence of Mi 5X on Twitter. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the phone will come with dual cameras and it will be launched on July 26th along with MIUI 9. With the launch just a week away, Xiaomi has opened up registrations of the phone and revealed the phone in all its glory. Surprisingly, the phone has already garnered 200,000 registrations in a matter of just 24 hours.
The Mi 5X will be available in 3 different colours – Black, Gold and Rose Gold (Pink). All the three variants look beautiful and enhance the overall design of the smartphone. The rose gold is a new colour introduced by Xiaomi which we will hopefully see in all its upcoming smartphones.
The major highlight of the Mi 5X however, is the dual-camera setup. Owing to this, the phone might also posses an optical zooming capability. Given the rising trend of dual rear cameras, we can already witness Xiaomi bucking up to compete with other global players in this regard. The leaks and renders of upcoming Xiaomi smartphones such as the Redmi Note 5A and Xiaomi X1 seem to posses dual-camera setups as well.
It seems likely that Mi 5X will come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display. Physical capacitive buttons on the front and a fingerprint scanner on the rear, resembling most of the other Xiaomi smartphones can be spotted in the revealed design as well. As per some reports, the phone will most probably be powered by Snapdragon 625 chipset and 4GB of RAM, the same combination inside the Redmi Note 4.
Although Mi 5X’s price will be revealed on July 26th in the launch event, it might start somewhere around Rs. 20,000.
