If you are in India, waiting for Xiaomi‘s latest flagship smartphone Mi 6 to launch in the country, we have bad news for you. As per the recent report by India Today Tech, Xiaomi won’t launch its latest flagship device in India.
Xiaomi launched the Mi 5 in India last year. That, however, made Xiaomi face a tremendous amount of criticism for releasing the lowest variant of the Mi 5 in India. Xiaomi also refreshed its flagship lineup afterwards with two new phones last year: the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus. None of them made it outside of China, though.
Fast forwarding to last week, Xiaomi officially announced the Mi 6, its latest flagship smartphone, at an event in China. The best part, it comes with dual rear cameras and Qualcomm’s latest high-end Snapdragon 835 octa-core chip.
As unfortunate as it may sound, Xiaomi finds it too expensive to bring its flagship devices to India. This could be one of the many possible reasons why Xiaomi won’t sell the Mi 6 in India, especially right now. The situation, however, might not remain the same in the future.
Specs-wise, the Xiaomi Mi 6 has a 5.15-inch 1080p screen, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, 12MP rear camera, 8MP selfie camera, Android Nougat, fingerprint scanner, and a 3,350 mAh battery.
Xiaomi, on the other hand, is reportedly gearing up to launch the Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 3, and chances are either of these could make it to India (even though their predecessors did not).
