Xiaomi Mi 6C Leaked Renders

On: August 3, 2017

The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has been producing some quality products lately. These products are eagerly awaited by the masses due to the price to feature ratio maintained by the company. Recently, image renders of the Mi 6C were leaked by Chinese website Baidu. The Mi 6C is expected to be the toned down version of Xiaomi’s flagship device, the Mi 6. Xiaomi launches a C series device every year to complement its flagship and the Mi 6C is expected to do the same with the Mi 6.

As per reports, the device will feature an aluminium build with trimmed down bezels. The bezels should measure close to 2.5mm on the edges and up to 10mm on the top and bottom. The larger bezels are to accommodate the speaker and sensors on the top and a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button on the bottom.

For camera enthusiasts, there seems to be a little disappointment as there appears to be only a single camera on the back instead of the dual camera setup we saw on Xiaomi’s latest device, the Mi 5X. The silver-lining to this is that the little black spot beside the LED flash could actually be a secondary camera instead of an IR blaster. The primary camera is expected to be an IMX386 sensor made by Sony. The front of the device will feature a 2.5D glass for a smoother touch experience. As per the rendered images and speculations, the headphone jack will be eliminated from this device, following the trend that the Mi 6 established.

On the specification front, the offering from Xiaomi will feature the brand’s own chipset, the Surge S2 comprising of four Cortex-A73 (2.2GHz) and Cortex-A53 (1.8GHz) coupled with a Mali-G71MP12 GPU. Xiaomi could also alternatively decide to opt for the slightly under clocked Surge X1 chipset.

The device is expected to be priced between 2000 and 2500 Chinese Yuan which roughly translates to between Rs. 19000 and Rs. 24000. We are excited to see this device perform in real life with Xiaomi’s new chipset coupled with the attractive price tag. The device should see its launch by Mid-August or towards the end of the month.
