Update (16/07/2019): Today, the Xiaomi phone with model number M1906F9SH has also appeared on Taiwan’s National Communications Commission as well as Bluetooth SIG. This model, as we know it, is clearly the Xiaomi Mi A3 closely resembling the Mi CC9e in its form and innards. The Bluetooth SIG and NCC listing will not add more information to what we already know about the upcoming device set to launch in Spain on July 17th. However, it does mean that Xiaomi is also preparing for the launch of the series in other regions in the near future.
After an appearance on the Wi-Fi Alliance portal, leaked images and renders revealed that the handset is likely to possess the same Snapdragon 665 SoC as the Mi CC9e as well as an HD+ AMOLED display. These don’t look like impressive upgrades, in fact, the display is a downgrade in terms of resolution, but the camera department will get a big boost with a trio of sensors including a 48MP main sensor.
(15/07/2019): Xiaomi Mi A3 With Model Number M1906F9SH Gets Wi-Fi Alliance Certification
A couple of weeks back, Xiaomi’s Mi A3 was a distant dream. Now, it is closer to reality than ever with a July 25 launch scheduled in Poland. Ahead of that official unveiling, the handset with model number M1906F9SH has now appeared on the Wi-Fi Alliance portal. This is the same model that, according to our reports, received FCC and IMDA certifications in early June. Apparently, we mentioned at that time that the model number is exactly similar to that of the Mi CC9e except for the last letter. This was a strong hint that the upcoming Android One phone from Xiaomi will not only be a look-alike of the Mi CC9e but also be similar in components.
The Wi-Fi Alliance/FCC certification gives us a hint that the Mi A3 will also be official in the US although it will first launch in Europe. As for the certification, there’s not much to glean at. There’s support for dual-band Wi-Fi and Android 9.0 Pie will be on board the device. As it stands, we already know a lot about the design and specifications of the Xiaomi Mi A3.
Renders of the handset leaked over the weekend revealed a design which is as close to a the CC9e as it can get. That’s not all, some live images that surfaced later on also shed light on the specifications of the device. The Mi A3 will very likely have a tear-drop notch design bearing a 6.01-inch HD+ AMOLED display. This is interesting as its predecessors have harboured a Full-HD+ panel. The processor, which was a hot debate, is now likely to be a Snapdragon 665 SoC same as the one on the Mi CC9e, as revealed by live images. The camera is in for a big upgrade though as we the FCC report showed a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor. The launch in Poland is taking place on July 25th.
