Recently, a new report hinted that Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi A3 and A3 Lite will come with the Snapdragon 730 and Snapdragon 675 processor respectively. Yesterday, Xiaomi officially confirmed on Twitter that the Mi A3 is on its way. Now the smartphone has been leaked in all its glory showing us what it will look like.
Xiaomi Mi A3 official pics w/o watermark. Enjoy. PS: I am not 100% on the specs as my info is contradicting in some ways. SD665 but 1080p is not a CC9 and not a CC9e either, so please take this wiht a grain of salt. Pics are official though. More: https://t.co/6uWOokV3Lb pic.twitter.com/BSqqAQW9z4

The leaked renders shared by Twitter tipster Roland Quandt and Winfuture reveal the upcoming Mi A3 with design changes compared to its predecessor. While the renders show a glossy gradient design, it’s unclear whether the phone will feature a glass back panel. The device is seen in three gradient colour options – blue, grey, and white. Notably, the fingerprint scanner at the back is also missing, which hints at an in-display scanner. On top, there is a 3.5mm audio jack, an IR blaster and a secondary mic while the volume rocker and power buttons are located on the right side. The leaked images also show a waterdrop notch on the front that houses a 32MP selfie camera. On the back, there is a triple camera module comprising of 48MP+8MP+2MP sensors. The camera setup is similar to the one found on the Mi CC9 series.
Unfortunately, the core specifications of the Mi A3 are unclear at the moment. If the reports of Mi A3 coming with Snapdragon 730 and 675 are true, it would be more powerful than the Mi CC9 since they are expected to be the global variants of Mi CC9 and CC9e. However, according to Quandt, the Mi A3 could be powered by a Snapdragon 665 chipset and feature a 6-inch AMOLED display bearing 1080p resolution. Other rumoured specifications include a 4,000mAh battery unit with 18W charging, USB Type-C port, and Android 9 Pie OS.
Xiaomi has teased the upcoming Android One device with hashtag ‘Photos Without Limits’ which suggests that the camera will be the standout feature on the smartphone. Going by the leaks and rumours, we expect the Mi A3 to be launched in the coming weeks.
