Recently, a Xiaomi Android One phone with model number M1906F9SH was spotted receiving certification from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US. Since the M1906F9SH model number matches with that Xiaomi Mi CC9e phone that was recently released in China, speculations suggested that it could be a rebadged as Mi A3 in markets outside of China. An exclusive report from GizmoChina claims that the Xiaomi Mi A3 is launching soon and it will be debuting as a rebranded version of the Xiaomi Mi CC9e.
Citing information received from supply chain sources, the publication has claimed that Xiaomi Mi A3 is already being stocked up. The device will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It will carry a price tag of $199 (~Rs. 13,700).
Going by the specs of Mi CC9e, the Mi A3 is expected to come with a 6-inch display with waterdrop that supports HD+ resolution, 48-megapixel triple camera setup, 32-megapixel selfie snapper and Snapdragon 665 chipset. It goes without saying that being an Android One phone, the Mi A3 will offer users a stock version of Android. The publication has further stated that there will be another device that will be the rebranded version of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 and it will be launching in September.
The above information contradicts the leaked details shared by well-known tipster leakster Ishan Agarwal through MySmartPrice. It had stated that the Mi A3 Lite will be powered by Snapdragon 675 whereas the Snapdragon 730 will be fueling the Mi A3 handset. While the tipster has been confident about the leak, there is on concrete evidence to support his claim.
It seems that the Xiaomi Mi CC9e could end up as Mi A3 series phone since certain details of the FCC certified M1906F9SH Android One smartphone such as dimensions and AI 48-megapixel triple camera setup match with the CC9e. Moreover, a Spanish retailer site PowerPlanetOnline has a premature listing for the 4GB RAM + 64GB edition of the Xiaomi Mi A3. Its specs completely match with the CC9e smartphone.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 was introduced with a price tag of Rs 16,999. Hence, the rumored price of ~Rs 13,700 seems quite low compared to it. The speculated rebranded version of Mi CC9 that is expected to arrive in September may debut in the market as Mi A3 Plus or Mi A3 Pro since it is equipped with better specs like larger full HD+ display and Snapdragon 710 chipset.
