Xiaomi Mi A3 May Come With Snapdragon 730, A3 Lite With Snapdragon 675

Earlier this month, Xiaomi launched the Mi CC9 series in its home country. Rumors have pointed out that the Mi CC9 and CC9e may launch as rebranded Mi A3 and A3 Lite outside China. The Mi A-series is a part of Google’s Android One program and aimed at users who prefer a stock Android experience. The upcoming Mi A3 will be the successor to last year’s Mi A2.

There have been various leaks and rumors surrounding the Mi A3 and A3 Lite. According to a new report by Ishan Agarwal, the former is codenamed as bamboo_sprout and will be powered by a Snapdragon 730 processor. The Lite variant with codename cosmos_sprout will be equipped with Snapdragon 675 chipset. If the rumors are true, the Mi A3 series will be powerful than the Mi CC9. The Mi CC9 features a Snapdragon 710 chip, while the CC9e comes with Snapdragon 665. There is no confirmation regarding those details or launch date either.

The Mi A3 is expected to be largely based on the Mi CC9 series. Both the devices are tipped to come with a triple rear camera setup featuring a 48MP main sensor. In terms of design, the Mi A3 will be similar to the Mi CC9 sporting a gradient 3D glass panel and a waterdrop notch. The Mi A3 and A3 Lite are expected to come with an AMOLED display and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The devices may also be backed by the same 4,030mAh battery unit.

The Mi A3’s launch seems imminent. The Mi A2 was launched in India in August last year, so we expect its successor to debut sometime next month.
