Xiaomi had first introduced the Mi A3 smartphone in Spain in July 2019, and it was brought to India in August. Like the previous Mi A-series phones, the Mi A3 was an Android One smartphone that came with a stock version of Android 9 Pie. Being an Android One device, owners of the Mi A3 were expected to receive faster OS upgrades and security updates. Hence, it was expected to be one of the first Xiaomi phones to be treated with the latest Android 10 update. The company has released Android 10 for its Redmi K20 series, but the Mi A3 is still waiting for its arrival. Now, disgruntled Mi A3 users have filed a petition over the Android 10 update delay on Change.org.
Android 10 was announced a few months after the launch of the Mi A3. Its users were expected to be treated to the update in October. Many phones from other brands like such as the Galaxy M20, Galaxy M30, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 Plus and so on have already received Android 10. A tweet by Mi India Support’s handle from last week states that its team is working on the Mi A3 Android 10 update and it will be rolled out soon. However, the company is still not confirming a specific time frame for the update.

The Android 9 Pie update for the Xiaomi Mi A1 had brought plenty of issues including excessive battery drain. Hopefully, the company releases will release a stable version of the OS for the Mi A3. The delayed release of the OS upgrade suggests that owners of Xiaomi Mi A2 may have to wait even longer to receive it.
