Alongside the launch of new Mi TVs, Redmi Band and other smart home products, Xiaomi has also announced new TWS earbuds. The new earbuds are dubbed as the Mi Air 2S. Xiaomi says that the latest offering comes with upgraded specifications compared to the Mi Air 2. The company also offers Redmi AirDots in its truly wireless earphones portfolio. Mi Air 2S specifications and features
The Mi Air 2S TWS earphones feature dual-microphone array noise reduction technology that is claimed to reduce ambient noise during calls. The earphones are equipped with a dual-core chipset to reduce sound delay and improve stability in connection. On the audio front, the Mi Air 2S feature 14.2mm drivers. They support Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity with LHDC decoding for MIUI. LHDC offers a low latency mode.
The Mi Air 2S truly wireless earphones are equipped with an IR sensor that pauses the music automatically when the user removes the earbud out. The audio device will quickly connect with the phone when it is out of the storage case. The Mi Air 2S comes with an integrated XiaoAI assistant that can be activated with a simple voice command. It can be used to perform a wide range of tasks and activities. Users can also control music playback and take calls by tapping on the earbud.
The Mi Air 2S is claimed to offer 5 hours of playback time on a single charge. It comes with a Qi-compatible wireless charging case with a USB-C port. By storing them in the case, the battery life is extended up to 24 hours.
Mi Air 2S pricing and availability
Xiaomi has priced the Mi Air 2S at RMB 400 (~Rs 4,300). The truly wireless earphones are currently available in China and will go on sale on Mi.com starting April 9th. Currently, there’s no word on the Mi Air 2S’s India availability. We expect Xiaomi to launch the earphones in the country soon to compete against the Realme Buds and OPPO Enco wireless earbuds.
