Xiaomi Announces new Mi Air Purifier and Intel Core i3-powered Mi Notebooks

Xiaomi held a launch event in China to announce some new products such as the new Mi Air Purifier, Intel Core i3 processor powered Mi Notebooks and AirDots wireless earbuds. Here is all the information on the specs, features and pricing of the newly unveiled Xiaomi devices.

Xiaomi’s New Air Purifier

Priced at 1,999 Yuan (~Rs. 21,100) the new Air Purifier by Xiaomi is designed for large-sized rooms. It is equipped with a variable frequency centrifugal fan and it offers three kinds of filter system such as anti-mosquito filter, medium efficiency filter for dust and H13 high efficiency filter. The polluted air is expelled out of the room through the crevices of the windows and doors. Xiaomi claims it takes just 1.1 hours to ventilate the entire house.

It can purify air at the rate of 300 cubic meters per hour, and features low energy consumption too. When the maximum air volume mode is enabled, the noise emitted by the new Mi Air Purifier is 36 decibels. In the sleep mode, it generates 20.4 decibels of noise.

The new Mi Air Purifier measures 97 x 36.5 x 23cm and it can be easily installed on the wall. It features an OLED touch screen on the front and the device can be operated using Mijia app or Xiaomi’s Xiao AI voice assistant. Its retail price is 2,499 Yuan (~Rs. 26,300) and Xiaomi is crowdfunding it between November 6th and 13th with a price tag of 1,999 Yuan (~Rs. 21,100).

Xiaomi 13-inch Mi Notebook Air and 15.6-inch Mi Notebook Youth Edition

Xiaomi has also announced 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch Mi Notebook models in China. As mentioned above, both the devices are fueled by Intel’s 8th generation Core i3-8130U processor.

The 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air is equipped with a 13.3-inch display with Full HD resolution. The bezels surrounding the screen measure just 5.59mm. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It weighs 1.3 kg and it is packed with a battery that offers 9.5 hours of usage. Xiaomi says it takes 30 minutes to charge 50 percent of the battery.

Xiaomi 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air

The processor of the 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air is supported by 8 GB of RAM and it includes 128 GB of SSD storage. It features a dual fan cooling system and is equipped with a fingerprint sensor. The notebook also features customized AKG speakers powered with Dolby surround sound technology. It is a metal-bodied device that comes in a Silver colour option.

The larger 15.6-inch Mi Notebook Youth Edition features lower-end specs. The laptop features a 15.6-inch Full HD resolution display. It comes with 4 GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage. It is also equipped with dual fan cooling technology. The device comes in a Dark Grey colour.

Xiaomi 15.6-inch Mi Notebook Youth Edition

Both the Mi Notebook models are now available on pre-order in China. The 15.6-inch Mi Notebook is priced at 3,399 Yuan (~Rs. 35,800) whereas the 13.3-inch variant carries a price tag of 3,999 Yuan (~Rs. 42,200). Both the devices will be available at discounted pricing of 3,099 Yuan (~Rs. 32,700) and 3,799 Yuan (Rs. 40,100) during the pre-orders. The official sales of the new Mi Notebooks will begin in China in the coming week.

The AirDots Youth Edition Bluetooth earbuds were also announced today. Priced at 199 Yuan (~Rs. 2,100), it offers a simplistic design and carries support for various gestures for accessing its different functions.
