Xiaomi launched the next iteration of its wearable activity tracker — Mi Band 2 officially in India. Priced at INR 1999, the Mi Band 2 will go on open sale starting September 27 on Mi.com and September 30 on Amazon. The Mi Band 2 will be available with a black strap at launch. It has been quite some time since the Mi Band was launched in India, which is still available for INR 999. Xiaomi chose to skip the Mi band 1s making the Mi Band 2 their first wearable with a heart rate sensor in India.
The Mi Band 2 sports a 0.42-inch OLED display with scratch resistant glass and anti-fingerprint coating. The band also houses a heart rate sensor at the back and an accelerometer in its core. The display shows the time, steps taken for the day, and heart rate. It comes with a 70mAh battery, which according to the company lasts for 20 days with moderate usage on a single full charge. The Mi Band 2 must be synced with the Mi Fit app so that you can keep a track of all your fitness activities.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is IP67 certified water resistant, making it possible to shower or wash hands without removing the band. It supports Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and weighs 7g. In addition to this, Xiaomi also launched the Mi Air Purifier 2 in India for INR 9,999. The IoT-enabled smart purifier will go on sale starting September 26 on Mi.com.
