Xiaomi has launched new Smarter Living products across different categories like home security, fitness and entertainment in India. The Mi Band 3 has been also unveiled as the successor of the Mi Band 2 that was announced in India around two years ago. The Mi Band 3 was introduced in China in May with a pricing of 169 Yuan (~Rs. 1,800) and today it has landed in India with a price tag of Rs. 1,999. The major highlights of the newly-introduced fitness band from Xiaomi include a touchscreen display, water-resistance and heart rate sensor.
Xiaomi Mi Band 3 Specifications and Features
The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 has arrived with a 0.78-inch OLED touchscreen display that supports a resolution of 128 x 80 pixels. It is overlaid with a layer of scratch-resistant glass and it is also equipped with an anti-fingerprint coating.
Since the screen of the device is big enough to accommodate 24 characters, it allows users to conveniently check notifications from social apps, view weather update, send text messages, and accept or reject calls. The tracker has been redesigned to ensure that it does not come out easily from the strap. The Mi Band 3 is equipped with ultra-low power triaxial acceleration sensor.
The Mi Band 3 comes with 5 ATM water-resistant rating which means the device can work perfectly fine in depths of up to 50 meters. The 110mAh battery can last for up 20 days on a single charge.
Coming to the health-centric features on the Mi Band 3, it is equipped with an improved heart rate (PPG) sensor than its predecessor. It can track sleep information through which users can improve their sleeping habits. It also features a sedentary reminder that will prompt the user to do some activity if he / she has remained idle for a longer duration. The tracker also comes with an improved pedometer. It can track various fitness activities such as running, cycling and walking and show the information real-time.
The Mi Band 3 is compatible with Android devices running Android 4.4 or higher and iOS devices with iOS 9.0 or above. Like its predecessor, the Mi Band 3 can be used to automatically unlock the paired MIUI smartphone. For connectivity, it’s equipped with Bluetooth 4.2 LE (Low Energy).
Xiaomi Mi Band 3 Pricing and Availability
The Mi Band 3 carries an affordable price tag of Rs. 1,999. The device comes with band options such as black, blue and orange. It will be available to buy through Amazon India and Mi.com, with its first sale scheduled for September 28th at 12:00pm. Xiaomi will also be selling its band via offline channels soon.
