The Mi Band has been one of the most popular fitness trackers available on the Indian market. However, the Mi Band 2 has been out of stock for more than a year now. Xiaomi launched the Mi band HRX version in India last year and it is currently the only variant available. Finally, after 2 long years, there are reports that Xiaomi will be launching the much-awaited successor, the Mi Band 3. As per recent leaks that have surfaced through Bluetooth certifications, the Mi band 3 is definitely on its way to becoming a reality. Let’s have a look at what we can expect and if it can beat its already popular selling siblings.Similar to the Mi Band 1, the Mi Band 2 and the HRX version, the Mi Band 3 will also connect to your smartphone through Bluetooth 4.2, which is low power technology, enabling a good battery backup. The design of the Mi Band 3 hasn’t been revealed yet but we can expect it to be about the same size with a possibility of a better battery.
The upcoming fitness tracker will be manufactured by Anhui Huami Information Technology Co. Ltd (Huami) which is a subsidiary of Xiaomi. The heart rate sensor should make a comeback with the new fitness band after it was eliminated on the HRX variant in lieu of improved battery backup.
In addition to that, it is expected of Xiaomi to place a better display panel on this variant and improve upon that heart sensor which worked only when placed really tight to the skin. The current heart rate sensor on the Mi Band 2 is quite a hit and miss for the most part. The Mi Band 3 will bear the model number XMSH05HM
We sure are excited to see this fitness tracker make it to reality an considering the fact that it is coming from Xiaomi, an attractive price tag is certainly expected. Can this device manage to beat the success of the other Mi Bands? Stay tuned to find out
