Last month, two variants of the Mi Band 4 were spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website. We have now spotted one of the two variants on the official website of Taiwan’s NCC certification agency. The certification suggests the Mi Band 4 may arrive sooner than expected. While the NCC certification does not tell us anything new regarding the specs of the upcoming wearable, it gives us our first clear look at the Mi Band 4.
Mi Band 4 Images Revealed
The Mi Band 4 variant spotted at the NCC carries the model number XMSH07HM. Unsurprisingly, the images available on the NCC website reveal a design that is not vastly different compared to the current Mi Band 3. While Xiaomi introduced a bigger display with the Mi Band 3, there is still no evidence yet to suggest the Mi Band 4 will have a larger display than its predecessor. On the back of the wearable, we can see a heart-rate sensor.
In addition to the XMSH07HM version seen in the images above, Xiaomi will offer a version with NFC connectivity. The NFC-enabled variant of the Mi Band 4 carries the model number XMSH06HM. Just like the Mi Band 3 variant with NFC support, the Mi Band 4 NFC version will be able to support contactless payments. However, the NFC version is expected to be sold only in China. Apart from support for NFC and Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, there is very little that we know about the upcoming wearable currently. Rumors have been suggesting that the Mi Band 4 may be equipped with an ECG monitor, although the images point towards a PPG heart-rate monitor instead. One of the main reasons behind the popularity of the Mi Band series is the competitive pricing. So we can expect the Mi Band 4 to be slightly more affordable than the competition.
