Xiaomi Mi Band 4 Launching in China on June 11

Xiaomi today finally announced a launch date for its eagerly awaited Mi Band 4 fitness tracker. The Mi Band 4 will be a successor to the Mi Band 3, which was launched last year. Unsurprisingly, the Mi Band 4 will be making its debut in China. We expect the wearable to make its way to other markets, including India soon after its launch in China.

As you can see in the launch poster below, the Mi Band 4 will be officially introduced at an event in China on June 11. Two variants of the Mi Band 4 are expected to be launched in China, one featuring NFC and a standard version without NFC. One of the major upgrades that the Mi Band 4 will bring to the table include a color display. The Mi Band 4 will be the very first wearable in the company’s Mi Band series to come with a color display. What is yet to be confirmed is the wearable’s display size. However, according to some reports, the Mi Band 4 is roughly similar in size to its predecessor. The Mi Band 3 sports a 0.78-inch display.

To ensure the wearable delivers impressive battery life, Xiaomi is rumored to have added a larger 135mAh capacity battery to the upcoming wearable. As a result, we can expect the Mi Band to last at least as long as the Mi Band 3 under normal usage. On the connectivity front, the major highlight will be support for the newer Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy standard. The Mi Band 3, in comparison, supports the Bluetooth 4.2 standard. Additionally, the Mi Band 4 is said to come with Xiaomi’s Xiao AI assistant and may offer improved tracking features compared to the previous models in the series. Thanks to all these upgrades, the next-generation Mi Band fitness tracker will probably be slightly more expensive than the Mi Band 3.
