Earlier today, Xiaomi introduced its latest Mi series smartphone called the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro at an event in China. The phone arrived as the Chinese tech giant’s first smartphone to flaunt five cameras at the rear with the primary sensor being a 108MP lens. During the launch event of the Mi CC9 Pro, the popular smartphone camera testing firm DxOMark released its scores for the device. The handset has received an overall camera test score of 121, which is the same as the earlier smartphone camera leader, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. Notably, the Mi CC9 Pro now holds the top position in DxOMark’s video ranking scale.

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro has received an overall score of 130 points in terms of photos, which is two points lesser than the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. The smartphone has scored overall 102 points in the video test, which is two points higher than Huawei’s offering. The Mi CC9 Pro’s overall DxOMark camera test score is an impressively four points higher than the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+.

DxOMark has mentioned that when it comes to still photographs, the Mi CC9 Pro offers strong zoom performance, thanks to the presence of two telephoto lenses. The device provides good texture-versus-noise tradeoff, fast and accurate autofocus performance, good bokeh and depth estimation, and natural skin tones in night shots because of the presence of soft LED flash units. However, there’s a loss of sharpness towards the edges of photos, some purple casts in skies, and limited dynamic range compared to other top performers.

In the video department, DxoMark claims that the Mi CC9 Pro provides good details in most conditions, good exposure levels in changing light conditions, and pleasing colours. Also, the device provides good autofocus performance, even when it comes to tracking moving subjects. As for the cons, the firm has mentioned that the phone has some frame drops, occasionally visible colour fringing, and limited dynamic range while recording videos.

For the uninitiated, the Mi CC9 Pro offers a 108MP main camera with an aperture of f/1.69 and OIS. The main sensor is accompanied by a 7.99MP 4x telephoto lens, a 12.19MP 2x telephoto camera, a 20.11MP ultra wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. As for the other highlights, the handset has a 6.47-inch FHD+ OLED display, a Snapdragon 730G chipset, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, 32MP selfie camera, and a 5,260mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.
