Xiaomi is all set to launch its ambitious Mi CC9 Pro smartphone in Beijing, China on November 5th. Ahead of the launch, there have been a plethora of leaks and rumours on the Internet, revealing expected details of the upcoming phone. Recently, Xiaomi also teased an image of the phone’s back panel with details of its camera setup. From the looks of it, the smartphone is all set to topple the DxOMark smartphone camera ratings soon. Let’s start with the only spec that the company has confirmed so far. We know that the phone will feature a penta-camera module on the rear panel with Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright HMX 108MP camera being the primary sensor. Fun fact: the ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor is developed by Xiaomi and Samsung in collaboration. The main camera is backed by a 5MP telephoto lens, 12MP depth sensor, 20MP ultra wide-angle camera and a dedicated 2MP macro lens. Goes without saying that smartphone has a dedicated lens for all sort of scenarios we capture day to day. Rumour has it that the phone will also feature a powerful 32MP camera for selfies and video calling on the front.
Display and design
Rumours suggest that the upcoming smartphone will feature a waterdrop notch display. If the speculations are to be believed, the smartphone will feature an AMOLED screen measuring 6.4 inches diagonally. We can expect the screen to flaunt a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a screen resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. Another rumour suggests that the Mi CC9 Pro will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner for security.
The image that was shared by the brand earlier today revealed the design of the phone with a glossy back panel in a green colourway. From the looks of it, the Mi CC9 Pro will feature a glass sandwich design with slightly curved edges on the back as well as the front. The phone was earlier spotted on TENAA with the same design and it showed the physical buttons located on the right edge. A leak has revealed that the smartphone will feature the IR Sensor on the top and we can also expect it to have a USB-C port as well.

Numerous reports in the past have claimed to reveal the complete spec sheet of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro. The most recent leak comes from the SlashLeaks contributor Sudhanshu Ambhore on Twitter. His tweet reveals that the Mi CC9 Pro will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset. For the uninitiated, the Snapdragon 730G is the latest mid-range processor from Qualcomm that’s designed for gaming. The chipset features select Snapdragon Elite Gaming features and an additional 15 percent graphics boost over the Snapdragon 730. You get features like anti-cheat extensions, junk reducer, true HDR gaming and more.
The Xiaomi Mi C9 Pro is expected to come in three configurations – 6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB. However, there’s no word on whether the phone will come with expandable storage.
Software and battery
As for software, several rumours have suggested that the upcoming Mi CC9 Pro will boot the latest MIUI 11 based on Android 10. For the uninitiated, the latest update brings a new minimalistic design, dynamic sound effects, new Mi File Manager app, Floating Calculator, Step Tracker, and more. Xiaomi has also finally included an Always-on display with dynamic clock featuring various kaleidoscope effects.
In the battery department, there are two varying sets of information. Several rumours have suggested that the phone will feature a 4,000mAh battery, while others have hinted at a larger 5,000mAh unit. However, all leaks suggest that the phone will flaunt 20W fast charging.
Pricing and availability
There are rumours that the global variant of the phone will be called Mi Note 10, which is scheduled to launch on November 14th in Poland. As for pricing, rumours suggest that the CC9 Pro price in China will start from RMB 2,599, which is around Rs 26,000.
