Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite tipped to launch in India as Mi 10i

On: August 10, 2020

Last November, Xiaomi launched its Mi Note 10 series in Europe. The brand had debuted an affordable Lite variant of the device in April this year. It retained most of the specifications from the standard model apart from the camera configuration.

The Mi Note 10 series didn’t make its way to the Indian market. However, according to a tweet by @_the_tech_guy, the Mi Note 10 Lite could arrive in India as the Mi 10i. The source has spotted some code with the Mi Note 10 Lite and Mi 10i codenamed as ‘toco’ and ‘tocoin’ respectively. The later hints that the device could be launched in India with the Mi 10i moniker.

Mi 10 Lite specifications and features

The Mi Note 10 Lite retains all the specifications from the standard Mi Note 10 apart from the camera configuration. If launched in India, we can expect it to come with the same specs as its European counterpart. The smartphone sports an FHD+ AMOLED curved display measuring 6.47-inches. It features a waterdrop notch and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. At the back, there is a rectangular camera module that houses quad-sensors comprising a 64MP Sony IMX686 unit, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 5MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro unit. The smartphone is fitted with a 16MP selfie snapper in the front.

The Mi Note 10 is powered by a Snapdragon 730G processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The smartphone is backed by a 5,260mAh battery unit with support for 30W fast charging. It runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 10. Connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE, Type-C port, 3.5mm jack, WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual GPS.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite pricing and availability

The Mi Note 10 Lite starts at €349 (~Rs 30,829) for the base model while the 6GB+128GB costs €399 (~Rs 35,264). Earlier this year, Xiaomi shared its plans of launching premium smartphones in India, and the Mi 10 was the first proof of that. If the Mi 10 Lite/Mi 10i does launch in India, we can expect it to be priced significantly lower than the Mi 10, which starts at Rs 49,999 in the country.
