Xiaomi Mi Notebook 14 and Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition launched in India: price, specifications

Xiaomi‘s product portolio in India includes smartphones, TVs, lifestyle and smart home products, among others. However, the brand has been conspicuously missing from the laptop segment, despite having been present in this category in China for several years now. Xiaomi began teasing its laptops for the Indian market a couple of weeks ago, and has now finally launched its first laptops in the country.

The company has launched the laptops under two series, the Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition and Mi Notebook 14. While the former offers a premium design and powerful specs, the latter is targeted towards more casual users. There are a total of five variants on offer.

Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition specifications and features

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition, as the name suggests, comes with a 14-inch display with FHD+ resolution, 178-degrees viewing angle and anti-reflective coating. It offers a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio and has just 3mm bezels on three sides. The Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition is being offered in two configurations with 10th-generation Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7 processors.

These laptops are the first in India to feature the NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU. The processors are backed by 8GB RAM, 2GB VRAM and 512GB SSD storage. The laptop boots Windows 10 Home Edition out of the box and is powered by a 46Wh battery with a 65W fast charger in the box.

Xiaomi has also equipped the Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition with two modes – Performance mode for heavy applications and gaming, and Silent mode for work, which can be toggled by using the Fn + K combo. As for the design, the Mi Notebook Horizon Edition is lightweight at 1.35kgs and has a compact chassis crafted from magnesium and aluminium alloy. There is an anodised coating on the body making it abrasion and corrosion-resistant.

The laptops feature a QWERTY keyboard with a chiclet-style layout and scissor mechanism and a large trackpad with gesture control and palm rejection. On the connectivity front, the Horizon Edition comes with two USB 3.1 ports, one USB Type-C for charging other devices and data transfer (only on Core i7 variant), one USB 2.1 port and 3,5mm audio jack. There’s no webcam on the laptop to maintain the bezel-less form factor, but the brand is providing a separate HD webcam with the laptop.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook 14 specifications and features

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook 14 series is the more affordable offering with a 14-inch FHD display and 16:9 aspect ratio. The display is identical to Horizon Edition except for larger bezels, which results in a lower screen-to-body ratio of 81.2 percent. It features a full metal design and weighs 1.5kg. There are three models in the lineup, all powered by 10th-generation Intel Core i5 processors and 8GB DDR4 RAM. The base two variants are being offered with Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU and 256GB and 512GB SSD storage, respectively.

The top-end model gets a more powerful NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU for heavier graphics handling, as well as 512GB SSD storage. They offer up to 10 hours of battery life, 65W fast charging and come with a bundled HD webcam. On the connectivity front, there are two USB 3.1 ports, one USB 2.0, one HDMI port and more. Apart from these, all other specifications are similar to Horizon Edition.

Mi Notebook 14 and Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition price in India

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook 14 has been priced at Rs 41,999, Rs 44,999 and Rs 47,999 for the 256GB, 512GB and MX250 GPU variants, respectively. Xiaomi says these are inaugural prices. As for the Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition, it will set you back by Rs 54,999 and Rs 59,999 for the Intel Core i5 and Core i7 models, respectively. Xiaomi is also offering buyers with HDFC cards a Rs 2,000 instant discount for the next one month. Both series of laptops will be available starting June 17th on, Amazon, Mi Home and Mi Studios. It will also be available in partner offline stores in the future.
