Xiaomi Mi Router 4A Gigabit Edition and Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro have launched in India today at the Mi Smarter Living 2022 event. Apart from launching these devices, the company also announced other consumer goods such as Mi Notebook Pro, Mi Notebook Ultra, Mi TV 5X, and Mi Smart Band 6.

The new Mi router offers features like four antennas, a dual-core processor, anti-hacking security, and child safety features. On the other hand, the new home security camera comes with an improved camera with a 360-degree viewing experience, infrared light for clear images in low-light conditions, and dual microphones.

The Mi Router 4A Gigabit Edition is fitted with a gigabit WAN port and a pair of gigabit LAN ports. Hence, it can achieve network speeds of 100Mbps or higher. Its dual-core CPU powers the gigabit dual-band Wi-Fi transmission and gigabit network ports.

The 2.4GHz band offers better coverage and performance over longer distances and walls, whereas the 5GHz band, which relies on the 802.11ac technology promises a smoother experience by boosting connection speeds while watching HD videos and playing online games. The 2.4GHz and 5GHz concurrent bands deliver up to 1167Mbps connectivity speeds.

The 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless chips are integrated with a power amplifier (PA) for enhancing signal transmission power, and a low noise amplifier (LNA) for improving signal reception sensitivity. The 4 high-gain antennas promise stronger Wi-Fi connectivity even in complex environments.  It has a 128MB onboard memory that allows users to stably connect as many as 128 devices. Its other features include ability to boost Wi-Fi signal coverage, child safety features like setting a time limit and blocking certain websites, blocking unfamiliar devices for connecting the work through Mi Wi-Fi app, and heat dissipation features like heat sinks, thermal paste, and vents.

Xiaomi Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro features a 3MP camera 

The Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro features a 3-megapixel camera that supports a high resolution of 2,304 x 1,296 pixels. It comes with an f/1.4 aperture and a 6P lens for capturing detailed images in dim-light conditions. For clearer images in dark, it features 940-nm infrared light, which displays colour video in low-light scenarios.

The new security camera is equipped with a dual-axis pan-tilt-zoom motor for a 360-degree horizontal viewing angle and a 118-degree viewing angle. The security camera footage can be viewed in real-time on a linked smartphone, tablet, and Mi Smart Clock. When camera monitoring is not required, the camera lens can automatically rotate downwards to protect the privacy of the user.

It carries support dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity. For two-way voice calling, it comes equipped with a pair of microphones with active noise reduction technology. It features a built-in Bluetooth gateway to view connected devices through the Mi Home app. It provides users three kinds of storage methods such as a memory slot that supports up to 32GB microSD card, NAS devices, and the cloud. Lastly, it can be installed by screwing it to a base or by invertedly mounting it to a ceiling.

Pricing and availability

The Mi Router 4A Gigabit Edition is priced at Rs 2,199, and it can be purchased through Mi.com, Flipkart, Mi Home, and retail stores. On the other side, Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro costs Rs 4,499, and it will be available through Mi.com, Amazon India, Mi Home, and retail stores. Both products will be available for purchase for the first time on September 15th.
