Xiaomi launched the Mi Smart Speaker in September in India with a price tag of Rs 3,999. However, it was made available with a lower price of Rs 3,499 for a limited period at launch. Customers who could not take advantage of the offer can now avail it at an even lower price of Rs 1,999 through a new offer starting today.

A tweet from the company reveals that the customers who purchase any of the following products such as Mi TVs, Mi notebooks, Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10T, Mi 10T Pro, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, or Mi Air Purifiers can get the Mi Smart Speaker for Rs 1,999. Apart from the Rs 2,000 discount, buyers will also get a one-year Gaana Plus subscription worth Rs 999 for free. At present, it is unclear how long Xiaomi will be running this offer.

The Xiaomi Mi Smart Speaker is powered by TAS5805M Hi-Fi audio processor and DTS technology. It is fitted with a 2.5-inch full range 12W loudspeaker accompanied by a 63.5mm driver. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. It can be paired with Android 4.4 or higher and iOS 9.0 or above devices.

For accurate voice recognition, the Mi Smart Speaker is equipped with a pair of far-field microphones. It comes with Google Assistant support in Hindi and English languages. The smart device can be used to control IoT devices through voice commands.

At the top of the Mi Smart Speaker is a touch panel for controlling volume, microphone on/off, and play/pause. The top portion also features an RGB-lit LED ring that lights up when a user interacts with it. Lastly, with Bluetooth Stereo 2.0 support onboard, one can pair two Mi Smart Speakers for stereo sound output.

In related news, Xiaomi has a couple of products lined up for launch this week in India. The leading smart TV brand in India is scheduled to launch the Mi QLED TV 4K on Wednesday. It will launch the Redmi 9 Power mid-ranger phone on December 17th.
