Xiaomi introduced its first television, the Mi TV 4 during the Redmi Note 5 launch event. A few weeks later, it has introduced a cheaper version of the same, termed as the Mi TV 4A today. There are two size variants of the TV: a 32-inch and another 43-inch. The lower variant is priced at Rs. 13,999 and the top variant costs Rs. 22,999.
The Mi TV 4A 32-inch variant has an HD Ready resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. On the other hand, the 43-inch model bears a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Coming to the performance specifications, the TVs come with Amlogic 64-bit quad core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. Both of them have 8GB of internal storage. Even the audio experience shall be impressive as the Mi TV 4A comes with DTS-HD technology and 20W stereo dome speakers.
The Mi Remote comes with a 11 button format that can be used as an all-in-one device to control the TV. Xiaomi has touted that the remote can be seamlessly used by anyone as it is very easy to use and requires no learning curve.
Both offerings are Smart TVs and come with Patchwall OS integrated, which is Xiaomi’s own forked version of Android OS for TVs. The OS is upgradable making it future proof. The brand has specifically focussed on providing great content and thus, users get access to content in 15 regional languages from across multiple providers. Xiaomi also claims that around 80% of this content is free to view. The OS is smart enough to recognize your viewing patterns and recommend you similar content.
In terms of connectivity, the 32-inch variant comes with 2 USB ports and 3 HDMI ports. Whereas, the 43-inch model comes with an additional USB port. Other connectivity options include an Ethernet port, WiFi, a headphone jack, and an S/PDIF port.
Xiaomi will be organizing two sales every week and they have promised adequate stocks for both televisions. The sales will be held every Tuesday and Friday on Mi’s official site and Flipkart starting March 13th. It will also be available offline in Mi Homes across various cities.
