Xiaomi has expanded its range of televisions by launching the Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro at an event in its home market of China. The Chinese tech giant has released a total of six new TVs – three models under each Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro series. All three Mi TV 5 Pro variants are equipped with Quantum Dot displays, which makes them the first TVs from the brand to utilise this screen technology. The company aims to compete with the likes of the OnePlus TV Q1 series with the Mi TV 5 Pro models.
Xiaomi Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro specifications and features
The Xiaomi Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro are being offered in three screen sizes – 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch. The Mi TV 5 Pro features Quantum Dot 4K OLED screen panels with support for 8K video playback. All the new Mi TVs feature HDR10+ content playback support as well. They are powered by 1.9GHz Amlogic Cortex quad-core processors, which are accompanied by up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage. The new Mi TVs also feature 9th-gen image quality engine and MEMC motion compensation technology, which allows for smoother motion pictures and show details in a crisp manner, claims the brand.
The Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro series televisions are equipped with two vocal and woofer units to provide an improved acoustic response curve. The TVs are capable of offering an audio response range from 90Hz to 14KHz. You get two 8W speakers onboard the new Mi TVs with DTS and Dolby Audio output. The connectivity features include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, three HDMI ports, two USB ports, and an Ethernet port. Design-wise, you have a metal body onboard with an integrated slim curved frame.
Xiaomi Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro price
The Mi TV 5 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch models are priced at RMB 2,999 (~Rs 30,250), RMB 3,999 (~Rs 40,350), and RMB 7,999 (~Rs 80,700) respectively. As for the Mi TV 5 Pro, its 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch variants are being offered for RMB 3,699 (~Rs 37,300), RMB 4,999 (~Rs 50,430), and RMB 9,999 (~Rs 1,00,900) respectively. The new Mi TVs will be available in China starting from November 11th.
