A few weeks ago, Xiaomi unveiled its Mi TV Pro television line up in its home market of China. Now, the company is all set to introduce more TVs in the new Mi TV 5 series at an event on November 5th. Ahead of the launch, the brand recently released a teaser image for the Mi TV 5, which suggested that the new Xiaomi TV lineup will feature a very slim frame. Now, the Chinese tech giant has revealed a few specifications of the Mi TV 5. The features Xiaomi has revealed suggest that the next-gen TVs from the brand will be premium offerings.
Xiaomi Mi TV 5 specifications and features
Xiaomi recently announced that the Mi TV 5 lineup will feature 4K quantum-dot QLED screen and 108 percent NTSC wide colour gamut. Now, the company has revealed some details regarding the processor, performance, and memory of the upcoming Mi TVs. As per the teaser poster by the brand, the Mi TV 5 lineup will be powered by a 12nm T972 chipset, which supports 8K video playback. The new chipset is said to be 63 percent more powerful than the previous-gen processor.
Furthermore, Xiaomi has revealed that the Mi TV 5 series will have 4GB of RAM and an impressive 64GB of native storage. The screen of the Mi TV 5 is expected to provide higher resoluition, better contrast ratio, deep blacks, and support for HDR content. We can expect the new Xiaomi TVs to feature highly narrow bezels all around the screen. With the Mi TV 5 series models, Xiaomi will be taking on the likes of the OnePlus’ debut TV models in the premium segment.
As of now, there’s no word regarding the pricing of the Mi TV 5 series. Also, there’s no word how many models will be available under the new series. However, since the previous-gen Mi TVs are available in multiple screen size models, so we can expect the new TVs to be also available in various sizes.
