At an event hosted in China today, Xiaomi has announced all-new full screen Mi TV models in four display sizes of 32-inch, 43-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch. The company has also announced a 65-inch Mural TV which is attached to a wall like an ultra-thin flat panel. Let’s take a look at the technical specifications below:
Full Screen Mi TV Range:
The new full screen Mi TV models come with ultra-narrow bezels surrounding the display. The 32-inch model (E32A) bears HD resolution, while the 43-inch (E43A) model offers full HD resolution. The higher 55-inch (E55A) and 65-inch (E65A) variants support 4K resolution and HDR. On the audio front, all the TV units are equipped with Dolby Audio + DTS HD audio support.
In terms of hardware, all the TV’s are powered by a quad-core 64-bit processor. The 32-inch model packs 1GB RAM and 4GB onboard memory, while the 43-inch variant comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. The 55 and 65-inch models pack 2GB RAM and 8GB internal memory.
On the connectivity front, all the Mi TV’s come with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support. The TV models run on custom PatchWall OS layered on top of Android. The TV also comes with a Bluetooth-powered remote control for voice commands.
Mi Mural TV 65-inch:
Alongside the launch of bezel-less smart TV’s, Xiaomi also launched its first ever Mural TV. It is available in only a 65-inch screen size and has a flat back measuring just 13.9mm in thickness. The TV looks like a mural, and can only be fitted on the wall. It is accompanied by a soundbar which houses the motherboard and other hardware, and connects to the TV via a flat cable. The Mi Mural TV boasts of a 4K display with HDR support. The TV features Dolby Audio and DTS HD tuning for audio. Xiaomi is also providing a subwoofer for free.
Like the Mi smart TV series, this one is too powered by a 64-bit quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage. It runs on the PatchWall OS and comes with the usual smart features. The TV comes with a Xiao AI-powered smart speaker which can be used for controlling the TV hands-free without turning on the TV screen. Users can also make video calls using this. The Mural TV also comes with a 12-key Bluetooth remote for voice control.
The Mi Mural TV comes with a host of connectivity ports which include 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, and an AV and Ethernet port
Pricing & Availability:
The price of base variant of new Mi TV is set at 1,099 Yuan (~Rs 11,400) while the 43-inch model costs 1,999 Yuan (~Rs 20,736 ). The 55-inch and 65-inch models have been priced at 2,999 Yuan (~Rs 31,122) and 3,999 Yuan (!Rs 41,499) respectively. The Mi Mural TV 65-inch carries a price tag of 6,999 Yuan (~Rs 73,605). The new models are up for pre-order in China starting today.
Xiaomi hasn’t announced the pricing and availability of its new TV’s the international market yet. Given the success of Mi TV series in India’s television market, we expect Xiaomi to launch its latest range in the country soon.
