Yesterday, Xiaomi launched the Redmi 9 Prime smartphone in India. Now the brand has debuted its Android TV streaming dongle, the Mi TV Stick in the country. The device was launched last month globally at the company’s Ecosystem Product event.
Xiaomi also sells the Mi Box 4K in India, a media streaming device with 4K and HDR 10 support. The latest Mi TV Stick is a toned-down variant of the Mi Box 4K in terms of specifications. The device enables users to turn their normal TV in to a smart TV. Let’s take a look at what it offers below.
Xiaomi Mi TV Stick specifications and features
The Mi TV Stick features a small pocket-sized design and weighs 30 grams. It looks similar to the Fire TV Stick but comes in a dual-tone black finish. Compared to the Mi Box 4K, the Mi TV Stick supports only up to 1080p streams. On the audio front, it supports Dolby and DTS Surround Sound.
The Mi TV Stick is powered by a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor coupled with 1GB RAM. It offers 8GB internal storage. The streaming device runs Android TV 9.0 and ships with built-in Chromecast, Google Play Store and Google Assistant. It comes with popular OTT apps like Disney+Hotstar, Netflix, Prime Video and Spotify, with more available to download from the Play Store. It also features Android TV’s data saver feature.
The Mi TV Stick is bundled with a Bluetooth remote with dedicated Netflix, Prime Video and Google Assistant buttons. Users can also control other smart devices in their home with the remote by giving voice commands. The Mi TV Stick can be connected to a TV, monitor or projector via an HDMI port. It also features WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Mi TV Stick carries a price tag of Rs 2,799. The device will be available for purchase from August 7th at 12pm on Flipkart, mi.com, Mi Home stores and offline retail partners.
