At its global Ecosystem Product event today, Xiaomi unveiled a range of devices including the Mi Electric Scooter 1S, Scooter Pro 2, Mi Smart Band 5, Mi True Wireless Earphones 2, Redmi 9, 9A, 9C and Mi Curved Gaming Monitor. The Chinese brand also launched its much anticipated Android TV dongle called Mi TV Stick. To recall, back in May this year, Xiaomi had released the Mi Box 4K in India.
Much like the Fire TV Stick, the Mi TV Stick is a portable streaming device that turns any normal TV into a smart TV. Let’s take a look at Xiaomi’s latest Mi TV Stick below.
Mi TV Stick specifications and features
The Mi TV Stick is a pocket-sized media streaming device weighing 30 grams. It offers 1080p streaming resolution. The device comes in a dual-tone Black colour. The Mi TV Stick supports Dolby and DTS surround sound.
The Mi TV Stick is equipped with a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor paired with 1GB RAM. The device packs 8GB onboard storage. It is based on Android TV 9.0. The streaming device comes with Google Play Store, built-in Chromecast and support for voice search via Google Assistant. With Chromecast, users can stream videos and other content on to the TV directly from their smartphone, tablet or laptop.
The Mi TV Stick comes with a bundled Bluetooth remote with dedicated Netflix, Prime Video and Google Assistant buttons. Users can also control smart devices with the remote by giving voice commands. The Mi TV Stick can be set up with any TV, monitor or projector by plugging it in the HDMI port and connecting to WiFi. The streaming device features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.
Mi TV Stick pricing and availability
Xiaomi has priced the Mi TV Stick at €39.99 (~Rs 3,500). There is no word on India availability yet. Considering that the Mi Box 4K retails at Rs 3,499, we can expect the Mi TV Stick to arrive with a cheaper price in the country.
