Xiaomi Mi Watch with Snapdragon 3100 and e-SIM support launched in China

Today, Xiaomi took the covers off the Mi CC9 Pro smartphone that features a 108-megapixel penta-lens camera system. The company also launched its new Mi TV 5 series. At the same event, Xiaomi has announced the Mi Watch, its first Xiaomi-branded smartwatch. The Mi Watch comes powered by the Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform, and sports a design that is quite similar to the Apple Watch. It is also packed with some vital features like GPS, eSIM support and it comes with an enticing price tag of ~Rs 13,200.

The Xiaomi Mi Watch closely resembles the Apple Watch in terms of design

The Mi Watch sports a polished aluminum alloy matte body with a round-shaped crown, a microphone and a rectangular multi-purpose button on its right edge. It come with a skin-friendly and anti-allergic strap. On its left is a secondary microphone and a loudspeaker. The device is fitted with a square-shaped 1.78-inch AMOLED display with a 326ppi pixel density. The display is curved on all four sides. It is equipped with a ceramic back plate.

The Snapdragon Wear 3100 4G processor is at the helm of the Xiaomi Mi Watch. It comes loaded with WearOS by Google that is customized with MIUI 11 interface. Some of the other smartwatches that come with Snapdragon Wear 3100 and WearOS include the Moto 360, Misfit Vapor X and Fossil Sport Smartwatch. The device also provides access to Xiaomi’s Xiao AI voice assistant. There is a built-in app store that lets users download other apps.

The smartwatch can be used for making phone calls thanks to the presence of the eSIM inside. For making phone calls, users can dial the phone number or access the desired number from the synced contacts list. Some of the fitness-centric features available on the Mi Watch include blood pressure monitoring, sleep tracking, a heart rate sensor and body energy monitoring.

The Xiaomi Mi Watch has a 570mAh battery. The company claims it can last for up to 36 hours on a single charge. The connectivity features available on the smartwatch include multi-functional NFC, GPS, LTE and Wi-Fi. In one of the commercials of the Mi Watch, the company has claimed that it is a swim-ready device.

Xiaomi Mi Watch Price and Availability

The Xiaomi Mi Watch carries a price tag of 1,299 Yuan (~Rs. 13,200). It come in Silver and Elegant Black. It will be available for purchase in China from Nov. 11. Partnering with Demi, the company offers users with  Xiaomi Mi Watch Exclusive Edition that comes with sapphire glass over the display, fully polished stainless steel chassis and stainless steel chain strap. It is priced at RMB 1,999 (~Rs. 20,200). The Exclusive Edition will go on sale in December. There is no word on the international availability of the Xiaomi Mi Watch as of now.
