Xiaomi MIUI 13: list of top features and customisation

MIUI 13

Xiaomi’s MIUI is known for offering multiple customisation options. With MIUI 13, users will be able to experience new sound effects, custom fonts, new animations and much more.

Xiaomi MIUI 13 wallpapers

The MIUI 13 will feature some new super wallpapers including live wallpapers inspired from the MIUI 12. Xiaomi also adopts new themes, live backgrounds, and animations. MIUI offers a multitude of themes, which can be customised with images, fonts, elements, widgets, and much more.

Xiaomi MIUI 13 power management mode

With the MIUI 13, Xiaomi will improve the overall power management on select devices. Though Xiaomi smartphones already have battery-saving modes, MIUI 13 will further improve battery management by optimising the UI to make it use fewer resources.

Xiaomi MIUI 13 new user interface

MIUI 13 is heavily inspired by the last two versions of MIUI and features a sleek user interface with fewer app clusters. Though users can still take advantage of new app widgets and place them on the home screen. Apart from that, MIUI 13 will offer an improved notification panel.

Xiaomi MIUI 13 document watermark

The MIUI 13 will add a new feature to the MIUI camera app which will allow users to protect their documents from unauthorized use. The update will add a watermark option to the selected document to protect it from copying by others. Furthermore, users will be able to access their files directly from Xiaomi Cloud via the MIUI file manager. Meaning, users can directly share, edit, download and delete their Xiaomi Cloud files right from the file manager app.

Xiaomi MIUI 13 memory fusion technology

Memory fusion technology is a fresh concept in the smartphone industry and only a handful of manufacturers are willing to use this technology on their devices. Xiaomi is one of those companies that are trying to use memory fusion technology with their smartphone modules and with MIUI 13, users will be able to use this technology to get extra RAM on the same devices. Memory fusion technology uses idle ROM from the smartphone and uses it as RAM to make mobile operations smoother and faster.

Xiaomi MIUI 13 Airplane mode scheduling

The MIUI 13 also brings in a new scheduling feature for Airplane mode. Usually, smartphones users can only turn on/off the Airplane mode. While travelling or simply saving the last drop of power, Airplane modes come in handy at all times. With MIUI 13, Xiaomi is pushing the Airplane mode to its next phase. Once the MIUI 13 rolls out, Xiaomi users will be able to schedule Airplane mode on their smartphones.

Xiaomi MIUI 13 optimised animations

Xiaomi’s MIUI is known for its animations and the amount of customisation available gives enough freedom to experiment with the phone’s animation and transitions. Perhaps, the biggest update MIUI 13 will bring to the table is the overall optimisation for animations. From swiping through the phone to opening apps, MIUI 13 will be sleeker than ever before.
