Switching between phones will be much better if you’re a Xiaomi, Oppo or Vivo user. These three companies have announced an agreement to enable seamless data migration.
The three companies have announced the data migration between the three brands on Weibo.
This differs from the seamless data transfer between the Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo devices. While the earlier tool worked more or less like an alternative to nearby share, this will work for migrating the data from the old phone to a new one. This feature will enable the devices to share contacts, photos, videos and other documents and empower users to transfer third-party app data.

Devices from Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo have already built data migration tools into their devices, but that would have worked within the brand. Now, this new data migration tool will make it possible to migrate data from older phones to newer ones.
The feature has been announced only for China, and Oppo has confirmed to Android Authority that it is China-specific and has no plans to bring it to the global market.
But the data transfer tool available on these companies’ devices was first announced as a China-exclusive feature. But it later came to all regions. We can surely expect the data migration tool to also launch in the global markets in the future.
Talking about the Chinese market, this feature will help the users in the country multi-fold, as they don’t have access to Google backup functionality for switching phones.
