Xiaomi is all set to put its latest smartphone, the Redmi 3S Prime on sale today. The Chinese manufacturer had announced the Redmi 3S and the Redmi 3S Prime for India earlier this month. While the availability of the 3S is set for a later date, the 3S Prime will be up for grabs at 12pm today on Flipkart and Mi.com.
For starters, the Prime is a 5-inch device with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.4GHz and has 3GB of RAM. The SD430 is an octa-core processor with 4 performance cores and 4 power-saving cores. The phone runs on Android Marshmallow with MIUI customizations on top. In terms of storage, it gets 32GB of internal memory.
Xiaomi hasn’t skimped out on anything for its budget offering. It rocks a 13-megapixel PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) camera at the back shared with the Redmi Note 3. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The phone packs in a massive 4100mAh battery which is huge considering its size and thickness of just 8.5mm. It is a dual SIM device with a Hybrid SIM slot, that can accept a Nano SIM or a memory card up to 128GB.
Priced at Rs 8,999, the smartphone will be on sale on both Flipkart and Mi.com. Flipkart will be running an exchange offer on the Redmi 3S Prime allowing users to exchange their old smartphones as well. On the other hand, Mi.com is offering Xiaomi’s ‘Mi Protect’ plan for Rs 599.
