On: March 20, 2017

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 4A in India today. The smartphone is Amazon Exclusive and will be available on sale on March 23rd at 12 Noon. The Amazon-Xiaomi partnership led to the success of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 earlier.

The Redmi 4A sports a 5-inch HD display (1280 x 720 pixels resolution). It is smaller than the Redmi Note 4 it launched a few months back. The 4A is powered by a Snapdragon 425 processor, a 64-Bit Quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. It has 16GB of internal storage along with 2GB of RAM. The storage is further expandable via a MicroSD card slot up to 128GB.

The Redmi 4A has a 13-megapixel camera at the back with a single LED flash. At the front, it has a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. The phone runs on MIUI 8 on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The UI has been designed for the India audience. It is a Dual SIM device and has a hybrid SIM slot (2x Nano + SD). The phone is compact in size and weighs 131.5gms. It has a non-removable polycarbonate back which houses a 3120 mAh battery. Xiaomi claims a 7-day standby time from this phone.

The Redmi smartphone is available in Dark Grey, Gold and Rose Gold colors. Xiaomi has priced the Redmi 4A at Rs 5,999. The pricing makes it the best smartphone in the price range, spec-wise. For those on a budget, the Redmi 4A is a much better option as long as they can get their hands on one in a flash sale.
