Redmi 7A India Launch Confirmed by Xiaomi Marketing Head Anuj Sharma

Xiaomi recently unveiled its latest budget offering, the Redmi 7A in China. Subsequently, the device was also sold across European countries. Recently rumors have been rife that Redmi 7A is making its way into the Indian market. Now we finally have an official confirmation that Redmi 7A is indeed coming to India.

In an interview with 91Mobiles, Anuj Sharma, Head of Marketing, XIaomi India has revealed that Redmi 7A will soon be launched in India. He didn’t give an exact date, however, he mentioned that the Redmi 7A will be launched alongside or soon after the Redmi K20 series. Putting things into perspective, the Redmi K20 launch is expected to happen in mid-July.

Redmi 7A Features and Specifications

The Redmi 7A sports a polycarbonate body that measures 146.30 x 70.41 x 9.55mm and weighs 150 grams. It houses a 5.45-inch IPS LCD panel that offers an 18:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,440 pixels. According to the company, the Redmi 7A offers good sunlight visibility and comes with an eye protection mode to filter the harmful blue rays emitted by the display.

The Redmi 7A is powered by the Snapdragon 439 and will be offered in 2GB/3GB RAM options. On the storage front, the device will be available in 16GB and 32GB variants. As far as the camera is concerned, the Redmi 7A comes fitted with a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2. and a 5MP selfie camera.

Connectivity options on the Redmi 7A include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, microUSB 2.0 and a 3.5mm audio jack. MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie comes preinstalled on the device. The phone also comes with a P2i splash-resistant coating along with rubber sleeves for the headphone jack, microUSB port, and SIM card tray.

The Redmi 7A is currently priced at RMB 549 (Rs 5,500) for the base variant while the top of the line variant is priced at RMB 799 (Rs 8,000.) It is available in Black and Blue color options.
