Xiaomi today expanded its Redmi lineup in India by launching the most-awaited Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, as it had promised. The company held an event this afternoon in New Delhi where it unveiled the successor to its last year’s popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
To being with, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) display with the 2.5D curved screen on top. The smartphone comes with an aluminium unibody design with new antenna design. It is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with the company’s MIUI 8 running on top.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip paired with Adreno 506 GPU. The phone comes in three memory variants — 2GB RAM + 32GB storage, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The built-in storage, however, is expandable up to 128GB via microSD.
Regarding optics, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 houses a 13MP rear camera with a dual-tone LED flash and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF). Up front, there is a 5MP front shooter for taking selfies. It also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner right below the primary camera. The device is backed by a 4,100mAh battery. It ships with an IR blaster, 4G VolTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and microUSB 2.0 port.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes in black, gold, and grey colour options and will be available to purchase exclusively on Flipkart starting at Rs 9,999. The 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM variants of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 cost Rs 10,999 and Rs 12,999 respectively.
