Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Red Variant May Debut Tomorrow

On: September 3, 2018

Xiaomi had introduced the Redmi Note 5 Pro alongside the Redmi Note 5 in February earlier this year. It had arrived in colour options such as Black, Blue, Gold and Rose Gold. A new teaser shared on the Twitter account of Redmi India hints that a Red color variant of a Redmi phone is launching tomorrow at 10 AM. It is now speculated that India may receive a new Red edition of the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Xiaomi is selling the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone as the Redmi Note 5 in China. In June, the Chinese manufacturer had released a Flame Red edition of the Redmi Note 5 with a price tag of 1,399 Yuan (~Rs.14,500) in its home country. Hence, there is a high possibility that a Red variant of Redmi Note 5 Pro may land in India tomorrow.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro is already one of the bestselling smartphones in India and its sales are expected to increase even more with the arrival of the new color variant. Currently, Xiaomi is selling the Redmi Note 5 Pro with 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM in India. Both the variants are now selling with respective price tags of Rs. 14,999 and Rs. 16,999.

The handset is equipped with a 5.99-inch IPS LCD screen that sports a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Snapdragon 636 chipset powers the smartphone and it is fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery. It features a 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup and a front shooter of 20-megapixels.

In related news, Xiaomi will be announcing the Redmi 6 series smartphones such as Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro handsets in India on September 5th. These handsets are expected to be priced between Rs. 5,999 and Rs. 9,999.
