The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is now official in Thailand. The smartphone is yet to appear on the official website in the country. However, the Mi Forum and Facebook page of Xiaomi Thailand has confirmed the arrival of the Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone. The USP of the smartphone is that it is the first Xiaomi phone to come with four cameras. Moreover, it is equipped with a notched screen like the Redmi 6 Pro.
Redmi Note 6 Pro Specifications and Features
The metal-bodied Redmi Note 6 Pro is fitted with an IPS LCD notched display of 6.26 inches. The screen of the smartphone produces Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, but the exact version is not known. The display offers up to 500-nits brightness and a high contrast ratio of 1500:1.
The handset is loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo and the latest MIUI brings easy navigation through full screen gestures on the display of the phone.
The notch of the Redmi Note 6 Pro houses a speaker, a notification LED and an ambient light / proximity sensor. It also houses a dual selfie camera setup that includes a 20-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and 2-megapixel depth sensor. The primary sensor is equipped with 4-in-1 super pixel feature for capturing brighter selfie shots. The handset also supports AI-based face unlock through the front cameras. Speaking of biometric recognition, the Note 6 Pro also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The vertical dual camera setup fitted on the posterior of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro comprises of a 12-megapixel primary sensor with Dual Pixel focus. The main lens is accompanied by a 5-megapixel depth sensor which allows the smartphone to capture images with bokeh effect. With AI Portrait 2.0, Redmi Note 6 Pro users can take advantage of up to 6 kinds of bokeh effects.
The Snapdragon 636 is at the helm of the Redmi Note 6 Pro. It is the same 1.8 GHz octa-core processor that powers the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone. The 4,000mAh battery present inside the device can last for up to 2 days, claims the company. The large battery promises 6 hours of continuous gaming, 8.5 hours of Full HD video playback and a talk time of up to 19 hours.
Redmi Note 6 Pro Pricing and Availability in Thailand
The 64 GB storage edition of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro that features 4 GB of RAM carries a price tag of THB 6,990 (~Rs. 15,700). Previous leaks have suggested that the lower variant of the Note 6 Pro features 32 GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM. However, the 32 GB model of the phone has not been announced in Thailand. The country has received the smartphone in colors like Black, Rose Gold and Blue.
The online retailers in Thailand will begin the sales of the Redmi Note 6 Pro on 27th September. Customers who order the phone between 27th September and 30th September can get a free selfie stick and a Wi-Fi Repeater. At the time of publishing, there is no confirmation on the launch date of the smartphone for India.
Xiaomi has plenty of mid-range Redmi phones such as Redmi 5A, Redmi 5, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi Note 5, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi Y2 and Redmi Note 5 Pro priced between Rs. 5,999 and Rs. 16,999 in India. With the base model of the Poco F1 flagship phone priced at Rs. 20,999, it is likely that the highest configuration model of the Redmi Note 6 Pro may cost under Rs. 20,000.
