Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Receives Bluetooth Certification Ahead of Launch in China

Redmi Note 7, which is expected to be officially unveiled at an event in Beijing tomorrow, was recently spotted on the TENAA website. Just a day before its formal launch in China, two variants of the Redmi Note 7 have been certified by the Bluetooth SIG. While the Bluetooth certification does not reveal any new information regarding the smartphone’s key specifications, it does confirm that the device spotted on TENAA was indeed the Redmi Note 7.

Redmi Note 7 M1901F7G, M1901F7H Variants Granted Bluetooth Certification

The Bluetooth SIG has certified two Redmi Note 7 variants: M1901F7G and M1901F7H. As you can see in the screenshot above, the Bluetooth certification has confirmed the Redmi Note 7 moniker. Apart from confirming the smartphone’s marketing name, the certificate tells us the handset will support the Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy standard. In terms of software, the smartphone will be running on MIUI 10 out of the box at launch.

The Redmi Note 7 is expected to feature a large 6.3-inch display with Full HD+ resolution and a large 4000mAh capacity battery. As revealed by a recent Geekbench listing, the Redmi Note 7 will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor under the hood, a decent upgrade even when compared to the Snapdragon 636 chipset powering the Redmi Note 6 Pro. Its key USP, however, is expected to be a 48MP main camera on the back. As shown by the images published on TENAA, the smartphone will also have a lower resolution secondary sensor on the back. The images also revealed a circular fingerprint sensor as well as gradient color options. In terms of physical size, the handset will measure 159.2 x 75.2 x 7.1mm. Alongside the Redmi Note 7, some are speculating Xiaomi may also release the Redmi 7 at the launch event tomorrow. In addition to being the company’s first smartphone with a 48MP camera, the Redmi Note 7 is also expected to be the first to carry the Redmi branding. As announced by Xiaomi recently, it is spinning off Redmi into a separate brand.
