Xiaomi is said to launch a new Redmi device — allegedly the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 — this month. We have come across multiple reports supporting this claim so far. To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 surfaced online in January this year, revealing some key specifications and price details.
According to earlier reports, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 features a 12MP rear camera. The company might drop the idea of housing a dual-camera setup, which was present on the earlier Redmi Pro. Some of the other specifications hint that it might pack a massive 4500mAh battery under the hood.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is likely to launch in multiple variants. One of the variants will have 4GB RAM with 64GB built-in storage. The other variant will carry 6GB RAM with 128GB built-in storage. We, however, are not sure about the phone’s memory expandability using a microSD card support. The phone might run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor. Xiaomi is making rounds for quite some time already thanks to this mysterious smartphone with Snapdragon 660.
In other news, a new report emerged recently suggesting that Xiaomi will launch its upcoming flagship Xiaomi Mi 6 next month. Xiaomi introduced a couple of flagship handsets Mi 5s and Mi 5s exclusively for China last year. With the Mi 6, however, Xiaomi will likely expand its reach to other regions as well. It might also have multiple variants — the Xiaomi Mi 6 Lite, Standard and Pro. The device might run Android 7.0 Nougat OS and pack a 4000mAh battery.
