Alongside the launch of the flagship Redmi K20 Series in China today, Xiaomi also announced the first laptop in its Redmi sub-brand. The laptop is dubbed as RedmiBook 14 and borrows most of the specs from the Mi Notebook lineup. Let’s take a look below:
The RedmiBook 14 features a 14.1-inch display bearing FHD+ resolution. It comes with narrow bezels and an 81.2 percent screen-to-body ratio. The laptop flaunts a metal chassis and comes in a Silver colour option. It weighs 1.5 kgs and measures 17.95mm in terms of thickness. The laptop comes with a 19mm full-sized keyboard and a multitouch gesture-supporting touchpad. On the audio front, the RedmiBook 14 is equipped with DTS-enabled speakers.
On the hardware front, the RedmiBook 14 houses up to 8th Gen Core i7 processors paired with an Nvidia MX250 GPU onboard. It packs up to 8GB RAM. The laptop comes in two SSD storage options of 256GB and 512GB. Xiaomi claims that the RedmiBook offers 10-hour battery life on a single charge. The machine is equipped with a cooling system to dissipate heat.
The RedmiBook 14 runs Windows 10 and comes with Smart Unlock 2.0 which is touted to take 1.2 seconds to unlock the laptop from standby mode. The notebook also comes preloaded with Microsoft Office Home and Student Editions. On the connectivity front, the laptop features two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, an HDMI port, 3.5mm jack, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Pricing & Availability:
The base variant of the RedmiBook 14 with Core i5 and 256GB storage is priced at 3,999 Yuan (~Rs 40,323). The Core i5+512GB storage retails at 4,299 Yuan (~Rs 43,344). The higher Core i7+512GB storage carries a price tag of 4,999 Yuan (~Rs 50,405).
Pre-bookings for the RedmiBook will start from June 1st with sales commencing from June 11 in China. The global availability and pricing details of the laptop are not known yet.
