Xiaomi could be working on a smartphone with better cameras than the Mi CC9 Pro

On: November 13, 2019

Xiaomi launched the Mi CC9 Pro last week with a 108-megapixel penta-camera system, making it one of the best smartphone cameras, according to DxOMark. With a score of 121 on DxOMark, the Mi CC9 Pro currently shares the top spot with the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. According to a recent post of Weibo by a well-known Chinese tipster, Xiaomi is already working on improving the camera setup on its next smartphone, meaning the CC9 Pro might not hold on to the top spot for long.

According to the tipster, Xiaomi’s next camera-centric smartphone is under development. It is likely to surpass the performance of the CC9 Pro by a considerable margin. Additional information on the device is currently unavailable, although details might surface during Xiaomi’s upcoming AIoT event. The Chinese manufacturer is likely to team up with Samsung again for developing the new device. Xiaomi’s only smartphone scheduled to launch this year is the Redmi K30. However, it will not come as a surprise if they decide to launch a few more unannounced devices before 2020.
