While China’s Apple Xiaomi has geared up to launch a new Redmi phone dubbed the Redmi Note 4X, we have come across a new report suggesting that Xiaomi is planning to unveil yet another mid-range phone — powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip — sometime this year. Since the production of the chip in question commences by Q2 2017, Xiaomi’s SD660-powered phone is expected sometime by then.
Furthermore, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip is based on Samsung’s 14 nanometer LLP process technology — featuring two Cortex A73 and two Cortex A53 cores and ranging, between 1.9GHz and 2.2GHz clock speeds. We, however, have no concrete information about this move just yet. Hence, we need to wait for some time before we come across anything reportable about this mystery [Xiaomi] smartphone.
In other news, Xiaomi is on the verge of launching the mid-range Redmi 4X in China tomorrow (February 14). From what is confirmed so far, the device comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory, priced at 999 Yuan (approximately Rs 9,750). If Xiaomi has a plan to get with multiple memory variants of the Redmi 4X, we are expecting the 3GB RAM model, to be the base option.
There is also a customised Hatsune special edition, priced at 1,299 Yuan (approximately Rs 12,650). To know more about the Xiaomi Redmi 4X, check out our previous story on Pricebaba blog.
