Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition to launch globally as the Mi 10 Lite Zoom

Qualcomm announced its new charging standard called Quick Charge 3+ for smartphones using its chipsets. The company mentioned that the new fast charging tech will initially be available for Snapdragon 765 and 765G powered phones, followed by other new Qualcomm chipsets in 2020. The announcement also revealed a new device, namely the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Zoom, which is the first phone to integrate both Quick Charge 3+ and Quick Charge 4+. This Mi 10 Lite Zoom is the international version of the Mi 10 Youth Edition, that was unveiled by Xiaomi in China just yesterday. With Qualcomm having confirmed the device, we can assume it will go on sale globally soon.

Mi 10 Lite Zoom specifications and features

Since the Mi 10 Youth Edition and Mi 10 Lite are the same smartpone, we know the specifications it will come packing. Starting with the display, this will be a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED  panel with a waterdrop notch and a tall 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone is TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certified and also supports HDR10+. In addition, the screen can reach a peak brightness of 800 nits. The phone measures 164.02mm x 74.77mm x 7.88mm and weighs 192g.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset which is 5G-enabled and has a clock speed of 2.4GHz. Supporting it is up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone is the first to run the latest MIUI 12 platform which is based on Android 10.

As far as optics go, the Mi 10 Lite Zoom has a 48MP primary camera which is supported by an 8MP 120-degree wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a periscope-style 8MP telephoto lens which has 5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom capabilities along with OIS. On the front of the phone is a 16MP selfie shooter.

Connectivity options on the phone include Bluetooth 5.1, Multifunctional NFC, IR Blaster, and Type-C connection port. Powering the phone is a 4,160mAh battery which has up to 20W wired charging support. For authentication purposes, the phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone will be available in Tangy Orange, Peppermint Green, Berry Blue, Peach Pink, and Licorice Black colour options.

Mi 10 Lite Zoom price and availability

Since the Mi 10 Lite Zoom hasn’t been officially announced by Xiaomi, we don’t yet know when it will go on sale. However, we can expect this to be in the coming weeks. If it is priced similarly to the Mi 10 Youth Edition, the prices should start around Rs 22,500, and go up to ~Rs 30,000 for the top-end variant.
