Micromax’s sub-brand YU Televentures has launched its first smart TV models in India. The 40-inch and 50-inch Yu YUPHORIA Smart LED TVs are loaded with Android OS and are equipped with Full HD screens. Both YU Smart TV models are now exclusively available for purchase on Amazon India.
The 40-inch and 50-inch YU Smart TVs offer an aspect ratio of 16:9 and carry support for Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Both the TVs support a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
The Android TVs by YU are powered by quad-core processors and 1GB of RAM. They are loaded with the Aptoide App Store which gives access to a wide range of apps. Both the TVs are equipped with 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports and 1 VGA port.
There is an MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) port available on the new YU TVs for establishing connection between smartphone or tablet and YU TV by means of a cable. Users can mirror their smartphone or tablet wirelessly to the TV using the inbuilt Wi-Fi feature. Owners of Apple devices can carry out screen mirroring using the Air Play feature. The YU Smart TVs can be controlled using the paired smartphones through the Wireless Smartphone Control feature.
The 40-inch YU YUPHORIA Smart LED TV is priced at Rs. 18,449 whereas the 50-inch model carries a pricing of Rs. 27,990. The Amazon listings of both the smart TVs states that these devices will come equipped with a base stand and wall mount. These smart TVs come with a 1-year of manufacturers warranty.
YU Televentures is mainly known for YU-branded Yureka and Yunique series of smartphones. By launching the new smart TVs in the country, the company aims to become a popular consumer electronics brand.
